Thesis Statement
Robert Mugabe has maintained power of Zimbabwe by killing off his opponents and people close to them, using the army to intimidate the voters, and tampering with the elections.
Very good start, but "killing off his opponents" is a bit too informal for the sake of this assignment; I'd use more formal jargon. Also, omit "the" before voters and before elections. Other than that, great job!
